SBI, Oriental Bank put on sale stressed accounts to recover dues of Rs 5,740 crore

Country’s largest lender SBI and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) have put on sale various financial accounts to recover dues of around Rs 5,740 crore. While SBI has invited expression of interest (EoI) from asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) and financial institutions (FIs) to recover dues of Rs 4,975 crore, OBC has put on sale 13 accounts to recover a collective outstanding of Rs 764.44 crore. The bulk of accounts sale by SBI comprises of 281 MSME accounts with collective dues of Rs 4,667 crore. E-bidding for SBI accounts will be held on February 27, and for OBC on February 25.
