IndiGo and SpiceJet have found another source of earning revenue after hiking baggage fees last month. Passengers of these airlines now have to pay up to Rs 800 extra for web check-in and selecting their desired seat. For web check-in of a first-row seat, a passenger will have to pay as much as Rs 800 extra, while a non-reclining seat in row 12, which is next to the emergency exit, will cost an additional Rs 600 when selected online. A middle seat in the last row will cost Rs 100 more, as per the revised charges. Meanwhile, SpiceJet will charge as low as Rs 99 for web check-in, Business Standard reported. However, check-ins at airports will be free. It may be noted that full-service airlines like Jet Airways and Vistara do not charge any fee for web check-ins.
