Estonia, a new startup hub for Indians

Estonian ambassador to India, Riho Kruuv, has said that Indian entrepreneurs have launched more than 200 startups in Estonia in the past year using the e-residency programme offered by the country. This programme was launched on December 1, 2014, offering easy access to the European market and funding from venture capital firms. It has attracted more than 2,200 Indians including Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries Chairman) who floated a subsidiary of Reliance Jio Infocomm there. Any person across the globe can apply and secure e-residency online by paying 100 Euros (approx Rs 8100) and commence online business in Estonia.
