ADB to scale up India lending to USD 4.5 billion in 2019

Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Friday said it will scale up its India funding to $ 4.5 billion (about Rs 31,500 crore) in 2019. The multilateral funding agency also projected the Indian economy to grow at 7.3% in the current fiscal and at 7.6% in the next fiscal driven by accelerated investments and GST stabilization. ADB India Country Directorate Kenichi Yokoyama said that the agency will allocate $ 3.5 billion towards government projects, while $1 billion will be for the private sector. The funding depends on the readiness of the projects in the country, Yokoyama added.
