Top management college IIM Calcutta attained a 100% placement for the 54th batch of its PGP program that had 441 students. 123 companies participated in the placement process with a total of 501 offers with an average CTC of Rs 24.96 lakh. 29% of students opted for Consulting, while 21% opted for Finance. Around 16% of students opted for jobs in the e-commerce, Operations and Product Management. In finance, the largest recruiter was Accenture with a total of 24 offers being accepted followed by Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoAML), Citi, and JP Morgan Chase, and Deutsche Bank.
Accenture Plc, the global consulting firm, will begin selling automation software which can suggests ways to streamline and automate processes in areas such as finance and accounting, marketing and procurement. Debbie Polishook, the group CEO of Accenture Operations, the company’s outsourcing unit, said that its 40,000 work force affected by the software deployment have been re-trained by the company for other jobs. Accenture currently employs about 469,000 people. For instance, if used in procurement, the SynOps system can take an order, generate an invoice, check that invoice against a contract, correct any errors and then email it to the customer.
